Collapsible Background
Anybody have experience with collapsible backgrounds?
I'm thinking about getting the 8x16 gray background by botero, but not sure if there are any other options.
In actuality, it's an 8x8 backdrop with 8ft of runoff for the seamless effect...
Any other portable options out there?

i have this.
http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Background-Stand-Light-Combo/dp/B002DL97WQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t
this is the heaviest duty lowcost backdrop stand i've seen. i can literally stand and jump on the 2 stands. THey're made from steel and weights like 15lbs each really really sturdy. you can use them as light stands as well.

muslin's horrible. it's so wrinkly, I use a roll of leatherrette kinda material from fabricland. it's like vinyl or some sort, no wrinkles. and for white i have this kinda stretchy material that i just stretch over the stand and crossbar. When it's stretched, it has no wrinkles.

I'm thinking a few clamps and bungee cords could reduce it a bit LOL.
I just don't think a 9ft roll of paper will fit in my car with the bags in the trunk...
Might have to go muslin. =(

No, it won't. Unfortunately, you don't have many options - either 9' seamless paper or 9' vinyl if you're shooting full body.
