Spark plug advise
So looking to change the plugs on my 5th gen prelude. Got some G powered NGKs. Eventually will run Iridiums but price wise not yet. Anyway I bought a spark plug tool along with it which looked like a regular socket with an extension. Anyway, tried to do it today and the socket wouldn't even fit into the hole. The socket is too big diameter wise. Fair enough...
I'll be taking it back today but i got to thinking if i could use my regular wrench set with a 5/8 tip. Looks like it will work but my concern is, once the plug is unscrewed. What holds it into the socket to be pulled out? I dont believe mywrench set is magnetic unless all plugs are. The plug tool I bought assuming it fit also looked like a normal non magnetic socket. I can't find info on this as it's the stupidest question ever probably.

I dont really know about the actual sizes but I know the specific spark plug kit I bought from can tire has this rubber peice inside that grabs the plug. check to see if you have that.
Mine was for a 5th gen as well and it looks like a regular socket with soft grippy rubber inside.

yeah id say stick to the actual tool. Before i bought the kit i almost busted my plug trying to fish it out with needle nose plyers lol

I didn't get time to buy the tool today but I found a spark plug socket in my wrench set with the rubber boot inside. The socket size was too big but I took the boot and used it in the right sized socket. Worked amazing. New plugs are in!

5/8" or 13/16" are the two sizes
If you're ever stuck without a proper socket, take a deep socket and use a piece of hose over the porcelain part of the plug to get it started/fish it out.

I like Bosch Platinum +4's. They have 4 conductors so they'll never miss. They also almost never corrode because Platinum is pretty much totally corrosion resistant. They cost about $20 for a pair.

as much as i like to run Bosch in a european car. NGK>Bosch in terms of reliability.
I recommend you get whatever the car is specified to run.
Dont run spark plugs with more conductors or iridium if it doesnt spec it. You're just wasting your money.
