Local Source for cheapo Light Tent/Lights?
Hey, anybody know a local place for a Light Tent / Lights?
I'm looking for some cheapo ones - I saw a few places like Kerrisdale/Broadway/LD which has that Optex one or something, but it doesn't come with a white background....
Any suggestion? I'm looking to get one soon to do some shots for my friend - she makes custom toys.... Local because I'm hoping to get the shots done in the next few weeks.
TIA!!!

after making two (one broke already haha) i gotta say, from reading countless tutorials, the best DIY setups involve using large panels that you can hold with ... some sort of holder. like the ones we use on a lab bench that have clamps and such. it provides far greater flexibility than a tent, and you will not be restricted as to where you put your lights.
check this out.
if you can find the right setup using a tent, it's also great and no hassles. it's when you need to change the setup/style when you run into problems.

It's awesome, except he obviously set it up as a trap. The thing springs open while I'm driving in my car - it's sitting next to me and literally scares the bejesus out of me.
Thanks Bill!

I would have suggested InspironPhoto.com they have a warehouse in richmond but its much cheaper to buy everything through their ebay store " stylist_store "
So far I have bought a portable 5x7 collapsable background, 1 7' light stand and umbrella speedlight head for the light stand.
I can say that the quality is pretty damn good and the prices are just right.
They have light tents of all sizes too. worth checking out IMO.

i ACTUALLY contacted them on Ebay - as I was trying to find a local seller I could go to and pick up the item.
Either way, I got the light tent now from Bill, I just need some lights - I just don't really have any spare lamps, might just go to ikea to pick some up.... we'll see.

do they allow local pickup? i'm assuming we'd have to include the postage fee anyways right ...
edit: InspironPhoto.com allows local pickup, and the prices actually look the same to me compared to ebay.ca
