New Hard drive not showing.
I bought a new 1 TB western digital black HD and it shows up in the bios and device manager but will not show up on My Computer on 2 systems running windows 7 I have tried it on. Any suggestions?

A new hard drive needs to the partitioned and formatted before it will be visible in "My Computer". In Windows, use "Disk Management" to perform these operations.

Thank you. Never had to do that in XP or vista if I remember right.

Right "My Computer"
Click "Manage"
look under "Storage"
Disk Management.
if that doesnt work, look on WD website for a disk formatting app.
if all else fails, pop in a windows cd and do the format from the windows setup.

You probably bought a drive that was preformated in the past hence these steps weren't necessary.
