I think it goes like this...
You come back to see your car after x amount of time, in a surprisingly poor state.
Your reaction is:
OMG, my car!
or in this case,
Ermahgerd, Merkur
Common folk won't recognize the Merkur, and therefore would not understand the "my car" <--> "merkur" reference.
At least I hope that's what it means. Otherwise, I am  . I'm still on how someone can come up with this.
