I'd suggest using water to flush your engine. Here's a guide:
http://mustangforums.com/forum/5-0l-...-this-car.html
DISCLAIMER: Don't flush your engine with water.

the only other thing i can think of is injector flushing. the quick solutions in a bottle only help so much, if your car is old, or you just a cheap ass and fill with low grade gas, you may need to have the injectors cleaned properly with a solution and pressurized system.

What do you consider a "low grade of fuel"? I'm going to assume you're talking about octane ratings since you mentioned price.
Octane ratings will not affect injectors. It has nothing to do with the quality of the fuel.
On the average car, cleaning them will barely make a difference. Diesel is another story.

Also depends on a car...
"flushing" is used loosely - you can do drain/fill/repeat until all the old stuff is out...or you can pressurize it and actually flush it out, and refill with new fluids.
For example, flushing an auto tranny (with pressure) can destroy it.

for cleaning injectors, ultra sonic cleaning. For engines, dump in some Dec 3 along with some oil and drain till you are satisfied that it's clean.

The answer is simple - OEM recommended engine oil, transmission oil and brake fluid. There is no reason to use any other fluids unless your car is used primarily for anything other than regular street use.
Don't buy into the hype.
