He wasn't wrong ... was he? I mean 99.9% of the fanbase especially here thought the organization was a joke. But now, ironically, the mgmt was right, they had to get rid of Boudreau and it looks like they chose the right head coach ... for the remainder of a meaningless season. I guess we'll see how next season goes whether we are living in Ground Hog's Day movie or not.

Listening to the players post-season presser .. some really good bits. One major theme that came through was that after the coaching change, the team started to learn how to play. It sounds like under Boudreau, it was a game of sophisticated Shinny ... with very little coaching and everyone fending for themselves to try and make something happen.

A lot of the games were against incredibly weak opponents too (as alluded to by Bruce). This group as-is, simply isn't good enough to be a lock for the playoffs.

Don't forget we had mediocre Demko, then no Demko, then regular Demko again.
Even if Demko wasn't stealing games every night, there is a psychological factor of players playing differently (better) when they feel they can trust their goalie to not give up a soft one.

If "Theoretical Playoff Bubble" is their starting point, it's ok to be somewhat optimistic. Especially when Tocchet relies so much on conditioning, and the entire team will be way more conditioned to start the next season (Tired Myers I'm looking at you). They'll probably try to make the roster bigger and stronger as well.
Not super optimistic, but not expecting a disaster either.

Brad Treliving leaving Flames and going back to pop's business ... Boston Pizza. I don't think Flames failure is his fault ... he pulled some rabbits out of the hat last summer with Tkachuk leaving .. getting Huberdeau, Weeger, and then Kadri. I think it's clearly Sutter reaching his usual shelf expiry date.

So apparently Boston has a bug going around.
- Bergeron is gametime decision.
- Ullmark is gametime decision.
- Swayman, who missed practice yesterday with illness, took part in optional morning skate.
- Bussi up from Providence as emergency third.
- Foligno likely to play.
- Forbort is definitively in.
Threw my $20 free bet on Florida.

Islanders over Hurricanes - Want to see Bo go all the way, and the Canes should be in Hartford
Florida over Boston - I hate the Florida teams, but I would love to see Boston go out in the first round
Minnesota over Dallas - It's a travesty that the North Stars are in Texas
Edmonton over LA - I know people hate them but I will always cheer for a Canadian team in the playoffs, except for the Leafs. Fuck Toronto. Plus have to cheer for the Hockey God
Rangers over NJ - I love watching MSG playoff games. Don't care about the Devils since the 00's
Toronto over Tampa - I know I said fuck Toronto, but fuck the Lightning even harder
Winnipeg over Vegas - Go Canada!

Playoff hockey so good.
I put the $20 free bet on Ullmark to win the Conn Smythe. Made me sick to bet on anything positive for the Bruins but the potential $180 return would make for a silver lining if that does happen.
