I have an intense case study and shaking in fear AI will take jobs. When I submitted my application to Translink, within 3 minutes I got a rejection letter telling me I don't meet their qualifications.
Looking forward to the welfare lineup this Wednesday!

grats dark. it's hard to fuck up as long as you follow everything by the book, you'll be safe.
when i was pulling farebox, the stories i've heard from first time drivers were ridiculous, and they are still driving today.
one that stuck with me the most was when one driver pulled in, they were in tears. supposedly it was their first day on the road and they had pulled down all the trolley wires on granville bridge and caused major havoc.

in general, farebox is the department that process the raw cash collected from buses and the ticket vending machines from skytrain/canada line/west coast express and london drugs.
we have staff at certain depots that collects the cash from buses. they work later in they days, ranging from 5pm to 2am.
we have staff working in a processing room from 7am to 3pm at the moment. the staff here can either be inside processing the cash coming in, or going out on assigned routes to collect cash from the skytrain/canada line stations.

For you folks who already work for Translink, do you have any tips, tricks, or suggestions on how to formulate my resume for future consideration? For example, are there any key words or skillsets/education they look for over others? I'm trying to get feedback on how to improve the next time. My soul was crushed when I got that instant rejection.

it highly depends on the position you are applying for. from what I've seen, it is better to apply for something that is easy to get into, stick with it for a while, then move around internally when the job postings come up. positions such as farebox, lost property or even customer info should be relatively easy to get your foot into the company.
some people from farebox have moved onto being a bus mechanic, service person, and being a skytrain elevator/escalator tech.

I simply applied for the Transit Operator Trainee (Bus Driver) - Job ID 20260227. Upon submission of my application, I received an automated rejection message from the candidate system stating my qualifications did not meet their requirements.

Is there something they know about me that I don't know about myself? Perhaps they may not like that I have an Ontario driver's license. I shared both my BC and Ontario abstracts.

Talk about a bad omen. I tried to download the Transit Operator Application Manual and got a Page Error/404 Error type of response.
I think this is not meant to be.

Can anyone attest to this? Does the CMBC HR system discriminate or score corporate candidates lower?

bcrdukes, I thought you were kidding about Translink driver. Why not mgmt in Translink or TTC with your shiny new MBA?
Do you have like a terrible driving record, points deduction, claims, speeding, etc.? I heard that was an instant rejection.
Farebox gig ... now after it is explained, makes sense. Do you still roll up the coins? I mean this has to be a diminishing role as more and more people use Compass cards.

A management job will be taken by AI, as qualified by JDMDreams. As for a bus operator, I believe the role is irreplacable until FSD technology improves significantly.
I don't have a terrible driving record and not points deductions. I drive below at at the speed limit and only speed when I do track days (but that's not relevant.)

Translink site probably flags out of Province IPs to prevent random people in India from spam applying.
