A few of us discovered this and mentioned in the chat, but here's the gist of it in reverse chronological order:
[23-03, 18:41] SkinnyPupp So if your link has words in it like "manufacturer-tech-forums" and not "showforum.php" it will send you to the forum main page. To get around this, just update whatever you had bookmarked to showforum.php or whatever you used
[23-03, 14:38] SkinnyPupp For now the best solution would be to update whatever bookmark you are using to enter the forum
[23-03, 14:38] SkinnyPupp I had to change how URLs work, and if you enter the forum from an old URL, your first click to another link will be fucky
[23-03, 14:17] bcrdukes wtf...if i go to revscene.net/forums i may be directed to the VLS forums.....WUT

delete your bookmarks, navigate back to the same page, and re-save them. Or edit the links with the new ones, but if you just use the exact same link as before, then obviously the problem will still occur

The unfortunate reality is that the American public and media will forget about this in about 2 news cycle and nothing will change. Only the pilots died who are "foreigners" and they'll make a scapegoat out of the controller and move on. Remember the plane hitting the helicopter in DC a year ago and people demanding change? Nothing changed.

Actually, there were changes made after the DC incident. https://people.com/faa-tightens-safe...ed-67-11929793
I also think it's an overreaction to say YVR is "chronically" short staffed. Navcanada as a whole is short staffed, but generally speaking, YVR is staffed appropriately. When it is genuinely short staffed, like it was last summer, they reduce the flow rate of aircraft. That happened a couple times last summer, but it's not chronic or frequent.

Didn't they blame the DC crash on "DEI"?
Anyways flying to the US now with ICE in their airports checking your bags and one guy manning the control tower of a major NYC airport seems like riskier than ever business.

I know it's probably fearmongering but I probably wouldn't want to fly into or transfer through any US airports with how things have been in the US. Hasn't there been a few accidents within the last year?

There is flow everyday going into Vancouver. Last summer was worse, but it’s also busier. Just wait for this summer.

^ when you say flow, are you referring to a NOTAM that says reduced flow due to ATC staffing? my understanding (and I could be wrong) was that hasn't happened since last summer.

There is perpetual flow into YVR for flights within a radius of 2hrs. When the controllers refuse to do OT the radius can go out all the way to Toronto.
When they are really short-staffed they roll out ground delay programs and crossing time restrictions. This frequently happens on sunny weekends, school holidays and christmas like clockwork.
YVR has been chronically short-staffed for so long there are gossip & rumours that they intentionally fail candidates to keep unlimited overtime.

If you fly some sort of local flight to YVR (I have most experience from Calgary, but YLW, YEG will be similar) you will have to request a desired departure time. They will get back to you with a time where they can squeeze you in +\- a couple minutes. This will be from the time you requested to 1.5 hours later. All due to flow control and lack of staff.
Coming in from Miami the other night, after almost 7 hours in the air, I’m told to hold for 30 minutes due to flow. We land, and no one is coming is around. It’s dead. One controller on tower and ground. This is a daily occurence.
They are extremely short.

for the pilots: i'm curious. during overnight hours, YVR is pretty quiet. so having one controller work both north ground, south ground , and tower seems fairly reasonable, not to mention fairly common. is that not the case?

I see what you mean. I see AAR is variable on a regular basis for a variety of factors. I guess what I was thinking of was when they specifically noted "staffing shortages" as the reasons for reduced flow last summer on the Navcan OIS site, which I'd never seen mentioned as a reason prior to that.
i'm just a armchair avgeek. You and noclue know way more than me about this stuff.
