Okay so here's where I landed with the piano.
YES this was a total scam, lol. I never actually contacted them but when I searched for the ad again, I came across multiple identical ads posted under different accounts, all signed up to Meta within a year or so.

I ended up getting a used Alesis Recital Pro for $400 including bench and stand. It gives my wife the weighted hammer keys, gives my son something to learn on, and the price was reasonable.
I feel like Alesis is a Hyundai or Kia, while Casio or Yamaha are BMW and Mercedes. But it meets our needs!

Scam ads are so bad on FB right now. I was looking for a rower and I was between a water rower and a Concept2. The number of fake ads was crazy, I don't even know why they bother.
Nowadays if I am looking for something on FB, if the poster account is created within the last 6 months I don't bother. I would report these scammers and FB would do nothing about it.

Online fraud is so annoying. I'm trying to setup ads on Reddit but I don't think I'll actually do it. Most user reports indicate the majority of clicks on reddit ads are bots. Total waste of money. Reddit does nothing about it.

Out of curiosity how much does RS bring in via ads especially as so many people use ad blockers? Is the cost to run this site low enough that we can just crowd source the funds needed to keep it around?

I would springboard on top of that to ask what the roadmap is for Revscene. Is the intention to keep the forum open to only existing users? Or are there plans to revive it back to its former glory?
