Took the dash apart and put a couple of foam pieces i had laying around in and back together and it’s all silent again!

I love the interior of this car though, every time I pick up non-car enthusiast people they all go “Wow this is such a nice car” which never happens with anything else I’ve ever owned. Everything is very satisfying to use on it… the only thing I dislike are the button blanks (I got over it) and that the screen isn’t a touch interface.
I missed your message. I would almost say not having a touch screen is a blessing, as the fingerprints on the inlaw's X1 touch screen drives me nuts. And the new BMW interface HAS to be operated as a touchscreen and I hate it.

As for the creaky MB interiors, it seems to be most isolated to that generation of cars. The subsequent redesign seems to have mostly solved them.

I am even more of a peasant but that's way overcomplicated and adding far too many points of failure for no reason. At least it failed when you were just setting up car seats, if that happened when you were out and needed all the seats you'd be screwed.

I am fine with my manual sests and manual rear hatch. Why ppl need to be so lazy.
Just go back to manual folding rear seats.

That is exactly the kind of shit I am terrified about. I am sure there's a reasonable requirement why the latch failed to the open state, but it seems so stupid for that to be the failed state.

My parents called Mercedes, and they said the latch is not motorized. I'm like yeah they are full of shit. The hook on on which the seat latches on to is just a plain hook, for the electronic button in the trunk to work the latch HAS to have a motor in it.

Either ways, the latch reset itself the next afternoon. It seems to be an out of bounds condition which the ECU fail recovered from. Still a retarded situation altogether.
