What cars do you want to own, and why?

What cars do you want to own, and why?

This car forum needs more car forum-e stuff going on:

Wishlist:

95-02 nsx - you want what you cant afford, and this is probably at the top of my list. Only sat in one, never driven, looks like fun despite some saying otherwise (can be said for all cars)

04-06 ford GT - looks nice, would like to abuse it on the track, this is my "post nsx" goal (maybe when im about to die from age)

73-87 el camino - probably a shitbox one (7-20k), one of those cars that would "feel good" to drive in summer, and "feel" like you took a step back 30 years

01-11 Elise/exige - minus the low quality interior, would like to abuse it on some winding roads, probably rice it out with a big wang and splitter too.

06-10 H3T - ultimate winter beater, everyone can judge me on the road for owning a hummer, although i see alot of the electric ones on the road, so maybe they arent as gay as they were.

09-2012 panamera - would need to be the super/turbocharged one, also looks like a fun winter beater while the C7 is parked in the garage.

13-18 A35-A45 - hatch only, AMG, interior is quite nice, vs all the garbage listed above, dont care much for new cars, but this is definitely on my list. Minus the fact that the A45 does not exist in canada, and the A35 only comes in auto if im not mistaken. Hopefully import one if their prices fall.

Diablo VT Roadster... Early model, blue with white interior... sure I don't get the newer interior but I get the pop up headlights. Why? Bedroom poster car

A lot of the cars on donks list is pretty realistic, gla45, hummer, panamera,

Things I'm thinking about, i8 looks cool cheap on gas but kinda impractical, gtr I don't really have a year round covered spot for it, lc500? Prices still quite steep. Ls500 there's a few up for sale currently looks like lease returns but I dunno anything about how bad the v6tt is and the interior just doesn't look that nice, a lot of them are just all black. Long stretch will be S63 coupe, M8, maybach or continental GT v8 but not sure if brave enough.

Long shot will be Aventador but same thing don't really have a good place to store. And I'll look like a drug dealer if I street park it.

I'll probably forget some because I've got a long list of fairly tame cars I'd love to have.

1999-2007 Toyota MR-S - It's the most fun car I've ever used on tight, twisty roads, which is my favourite kind of driving. Ideally with a 2ZZ swap + ITBs for a bit more power and the amazing sound.

2004-2011 Lotus Elise/Exige - For the same kind of driving as the MR-S, but a bit more exotic and set up out of the box.

2006-2018 Aston Martin Vantage - imo they're still one of most beautiful cars ever made.

1985-1991 Mazda RX-7 - Everything about those engines is just so unique

1995-2001 Acura/Honda NSX - Like donk said they look like a lot of fun. I put the cut off at 01 because I'd want the pop ups.

1997-2006 BMW M3 - Hell I'd probably be happy with a 330i, but since I'm dreaming may as well go for an M3. They've been a benchmark for ages and seem like the last era of BMWs that are easily DIYable.

1998-2005 Lexus IS300/Toyota Altezza - I've always liked them but I've only briefly driven a reallllly clapped out Altezza and it was fun, so I'd love to try a good one.

1970-1976 Toyota Celica - There's a lot of old cars I'd love to have purely because of how good they sound, but I'll just list the Celica because it's one of my favourites.

2007-2015 Lexus IS-F - GT cars aren't really my jam, but they look and sound so good I'd still love to try one for a bit.

2008-2015 Mercedes C63 AMG - The same reasons as the IS-F.

1990-2007 Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series - The ideal offroader, they're ultra-reliable and from the end of the solid front axle era.

I would love to have a restomod of some kind - Alfaholics, Singer... Eagle F-Type... I love the marriage of classic and modern.

All out of my reach.

A GS-F was my realistic holy grail for the longest time, but nowadays a Murano Cross is at the top of my list since it's such an oddball vehicle.

If we go beyond North America, something like a Honda Super-ONE and GR Yaris would be fun as a daily in the UK/ Japan, or a mint late-model Holden ute in Australia (if I had the opportunity to own cars there, which I don't).

In order of priority:

2011 Lotus Exige

2024 Toyota GR86 - in Premium MT, w/ the BBK and dampers swapped over from a tS. must have Neptune Blue: this is the last year it was available.

1989 AW11 MR2 Supercharged - this was my first car, but it was rusted out and NA. i want a do-over!

1999 ST205 Celica GT-Four RC - but uh... with a LHD conversion.

2005 GD Subaru Impreza STI - the dream car back in university. blob eye or bust. no other year will do.

2005 1G IS300 - always wanted one of these in blue with the spoiler, w/ a 6MT LSD swap.

2005 7G Toyota Celica GTS - the original dream car back in high school. would want the OEM high wing, and add an LSD.

I'm surprised you guys are so into the older Toyota, no type r, no vtec du ma. The Celica gts and xrs were such disappointments, like literally your have to drive it like a BMW asshole driver and red line in every gear to keep it in lift.

I owned both a GS-R and a GT-S in the past and they were almost identical… 5k vs 6k for lift… you’re still driving like an asshat in both to stay in lift lol

The only reason the Honda eclipsed the Celica was the massive aftermarket for it. Celica has almost none, but was a much nicer car in almost every respect. It was also significantly newer, Integra ended in 01 when Celica was just getting started and competed more directly with the RSX.

Holy grail car: NA1/NA2 NSX. Never driven one but feels like the dream car to own.

My present day semi-rich car dream garage:
- 718 Boxster Spyder. Most beautiful modern car and I love drop tops.
- Mercedes E53 AMG wagon.
- Civic hatch hybrid. Need something small and simple to get around town.

Car I'd sure like to own (or at least take a spin in):
- E30 M3
- Volvo V60 Polestar. Gorgeous despite the brittle ride.
- S63 AMG (W221 - 2005-2012) - God's own thundercloud
- Singer 911
- ND Miata with a Corvette V8
- 2017 S550 coupe. Cross country car of choice
- 991 or 992 GT3

My pain list:
- VW Phaeton W12
- Audi RS4 (B7) - Engine out services!

There is only one car I'm looking for, I mean there are cars I'd love to own but I know it will never happen.

1987 Mustang GT with T-Tops, was my high school car in the 90s, I want another one. They don't come up very often with T-Tops but I'm always looking, if I find one I like I'll probably pull the trigger. I'd also settle for a 85-86 in the right condition.

The short list of possible cars of if I can justify parking lol….

Jaguar XJ, likely series 3 although a XJ-C would be most desirable don’t don’t want to deal with the project. V12 of course… because V12

VW Beetle - Childhood favourite car

VW Manx type buggy - 4 seater

Series 3 Landrover Defender

~1964 Ford Thunderbird - Cause they are gangsta

Some lightweight 70’s muscle car would be cool too.

All of the above stem from the desire to drive another “project” but with 4 seats for the kiddos. The Z shall remain the other project lol.

Daily stuff? Toyota Sienna, F150, ineos Geolander…

Exotic? Something from the 1970-1990s lol.

I've got a bunch of cars I want to get.

2026 911 GT3 Touring is probably the top car on the list which would replace my M3.

Some kind of restomod like Roastpuff, same line of cars, Singer, Alfaholics, etc.

Some kind of old classic, not restomodded, but also sorted, I don't want to do work on them, this has a lot of range as high up there like Gullwing, E type, down to mid to cheaper cars like E70 Corolla, 1st gen Civic hatch, MX83 Cressida, Beetles, Minis, Escorts

I do want an Altezza or GR Mark X with the stick. E46, clown shoe.

And one VERY out of the left field, Unimog.

Most of these aren't realistic, especially things like a Unimog.
