I thought RS has long established -- with a full numerical analysis -- that hiring "professionals" is the higher ROI option compared to being together with someone?
So as long as you have the money (from marrying rich), you would also have the option to hire "professionals". The only concern then becomes how you wouldn't get kicked out by the rich roomate.

If you can't marry rich I recommend marrying someone with a defined benefit pension (ie. gov't job). I've been doing the math on retirement a bit more and by age 65 my wife and I will have $100k/yr of income till death (it'll be adjusted for inflation) just from her pension, our CPP, and our OAS. $100k/yr adjusted for inflation is plenty for us to live comfortably at that age. You just have to be able to tolerate all the bitching that goes on from having to work in the gov't.

If you're in your mid 20's to early 30's ... what Baddyhobz means, I think, is to look for a girl who have wealthy parents and a big inheritance coming. No chic at 20-30 is that wealthy on her own unless she is an InFlueNceR ... but you want to stay the hell away from those.

This would mean ... teacher, nurse, goverment job as mentioned, and Translink of course ... what else has that steady pension? Working for big companies that match RRSP contribution is also a good deal/retirement insurance.
