Whats everyones thoughts on prenups/marriage contracts/postnups/parental contracts?

Some people be dense! Story from an accountant friend.
He was tasked to talk to the dense wife-to-be after having multiple prior meetings to sign the prenup. Asking questions like why do I need to sign this?!? Does he have money or something?!? If the girl would just google the guys name, it would be clear to her how much money she's marrying into, but my friend can't tell her "google him you idiot"

I believe it should be government mandatory for all couples.
You both agree to X, something bad happens > no one wastes 2-50k on lawyers, and no one gets their feelings hurt.
I got one for myself and the gf once we moved in. Wanted to get it "out of the way" right away. Took alot of stress off my back.
Do they work? Thats a different story, ive heard multiple opinions on the topic, too many variables.
What i do know, is how many people have been financially raped without one. Some of the stories i have heard, made me sick, like disgusting behavior sick, and im not grossed out by much. Dont know the story from the womans end, so its hard to say who is in the wrong, if applicable.
I only know one other person my age, that has gotten a prenup with his gf prior to moving in as well.
Most other male friends are in the "whatever" category of not getting one. Or they are afraid to even open that door with the gf. Ive heard of women doing a 180 once the guy says "prenup".
Personally if they did a 180, theres your answer.
Lastly, you guys will get a kick out of this one, a friend from elementary school:
Dating same chick for 15 years, cheated on her once early on.
On / off for middle 5 years dating each other.
She still doesn't trust him, last year, she said she wanted a prenup stating:
If he cheats again, she gets EVERYTHING he has.

Aren't many pre-nups unenforceable if you have a good enough lawyer? That is, if you're rich enough for one to matter, it'll probably be ironclad. But for regular schmoes? good luck hope she doesn't get pissed at you.

this is true but also in a messed up way. if they find out you're taken and you aren't particularly attractive or smooth they'll wonder why. that's when they start looking for signs of wealth because well... that's #1 reason they will jump to. baseline thought is "I wonder what it was about this guy that made the girl choose him" which is what generates their interest in you.
