I had a great time dancing back in the days. Given i'm asian it's hard to compete when every dude were 4 inches taller and all girls were flocking to all these white guys.

On the other hand, clubs were usually filled with tons of gangster asians (Purple Onion, Big Bamboo, Boss, Atlantis, Richards on Richards (meh), Plaza of Nations etc...Those days are long gone.

I grew out of my shell when i had a roommate and really became and extrovert. Throwing away all my shame and care and had a great time just dancing. Yes liquor courage and getting high before hand worked wonders.

I wonder what kids do nowadays... (aside from swiping) to get to know poeple in public.

Dancing days were fun. My friends and I always reminisce at how different it used to be versus today.

Remember when clubs like Boss, Atlantis, Sonar, all used to be entirely a dancefloor with perhaps a tiny section with a few tables for VIP. You were forced to get on the floor and move up on a girl from behind and dance, if she wasn't down, she'd step away and you'd go on your way. Doing that today would be considered creepy or being a "pest".

Nowadays the entire club is one big VIP, tables everywhere, everyone hanging in their own sections and not mingling about, it's all quite bizarre. What's the point of going to the club if you're just going to hang out at a table with your group? You could've done that shit at home.

I'm happy to be the guy who buys his friends drinks so they can go dance and have fun. I find that more enjoyable than embarrassing myself with my literal complete lack of dancing ability lol.

It's kinda wild that I am not socially anxious at all - probably cause im autistic but I label it as authentic LUUUUL

but the wild thing is that I'm hella extroverted, don't care what ppl think of me (aka authentically myself) but have no game with Vancouver girls.

That said, I've been reading studies on this, and I've found alignment with my real world experience - women in Asia are a bit more open to having conversation where as western women (not to be mistaken for white) have that entitlement of "what makes you worthy of talking to me" and you have to qualify yourself/demonstrate enough value.

It's still Atlantis, 686, and Gossip for me (dating myself)

Actually, Gossip was the later name, what was it called before Gossip?

I remember the first weekend after they banned smoking in the clubs... You took a look around and thought, damn that was hidden behind the smoke? I think they all repainted/redecorated right after that.

The only place i have never been was Fortune, still remember when Jay-Z was in town (via some newpaper report), he said that place had the best sound system. Is that still around in China town. Celebs will forever do well cause the LGBTA2+ will always support dancing any day of hte week on Davie street. Is the casino still there at Plaza of nations?

OH YEAH... wow that was back in 2008, i did remember when smoking was allowed, then again, u woud be able to pull a hcick outside for a smoke. Not like the bathrooms smelled any better.
