semi related, one of those nurses was trying to convince her friend to choose the rich guy when deciding who to date. luckily, her friend said no and I also encourage her to choose the guy she likes, not just base her decision solely on money.
What the heck, don't nurses make good money? Why would they need to care how much their partner makes??
And herein lies the problem, they don't care. If she makes six figures, you better be making seven in order to deserve her time. Otherwise you're just a broke boy and she's just too good for you. There's no such thing as equality or 50-50. It is again the my money is my money, your money is OUR money mentality.
Just to be clear, this isn't limited to nurses obviously. However, when they're making that kind of money, that simply raises the bar for what they deem acceptable. Never mind the vast majority of people don't make that kind of money, you're just not good enough.
This is why top female earners essentially price themselves out of the market. They also don't understand why their income level isn't considered an accomplishment to men. Why would it be? They still expect men to pay 75-100% of the time for everything but wonder why that's not something they bring to the table lol. The ones who don't have this mindset are the ones that can find partners a lot easier.
