Plasma/LCD choosing size
buying a new TV, help me choose size?
Go as big as my budget allows me? or buy perfect size for the right viewing distance?
In other words, should i buy a 50 inch for viewing distance of about 2meter-2.5 meters (measured from sofa to TV ), or a 42 inch TV. The price difference is about 200 bux.
Mind you that I don't have HD cable and don't plan to anytime. So will be watch crappy SD channels.

I have a 46" that's about 2-2.5 meters away. It could be 52" or even 60" and still be perfectly viewable. As long as you don't have to pan your vision to see the whole screen.

if you're 2.5 meters away a 42 or 46 is optimal... add about a foot per size increase after that for best picture image....
