Help wanted be company email server technician
just wondering if someone can help me answer some questions. how long does an average company keep employee emails for? if you use microsoft outlook for company emails and you delete that email and then go to deleted items and do recover deleted items and purge those does that really mean anything? or would they still have access to those emails on the main server? thanks

it depends on the company
i know my dads company which is a very large multinational insurance company has all their emails sent to their head office in St.Paul minny, they are then forwarded to your inbox from there and cached for somthing like 5 years or somthing

deleting it from Outlook only deletes that copy of the message, I have mine set up so that e-mails dont get deleted from the server when I download them using Outlook, so even if my computer blow up, I still have all my messages. I would assume a company would work the same way, technically you're only getting a copy of the message on your local machine.
