Lumix G1 -- any experiences? (or alternatives)
My g/f wants a new camera and thought this seemed like a good one?
She wants something small but a good lens, etc. Any ideas?

The G1 is a great little camera. Very light, surprisingly good image quality. I know of a few pros who have it as a walkaround camera. There is an Olympus camera that is going to be released soon that is also based on the micro four thirds system.

Also look at the Canon G10 and Panasonic LX3.

fast AF. When I said fast, I mean REAL FAST. I'm pretty impressed with the camera but the size isn't really that small. It's apparently smaller than any slrs on the market right now but it's still a pretty big one.
like senna4ever said, if you want something even more compact, you can wait for the olympus ep-1

Thanks! (PS: I came into your new place a few weeks back with my family -- my dad used to come into Sakana often! Excellent!)
