Anybody here longboard?
hey guys,
Just wondering if anybody here longboards? I just waited 29 days to get my new board painted and shipped and we have rain now... So I can't even ride! Anyways here are pics of my Bustin Strike.
Deck: Bustin Strike
Wheels: Orangatang Stimulus 70mm 83A
Trucks: Randal RII 180 trucks (black with the stock red bushings)
Bearings: Standard Abec 7 bearings
Now on to the good stuff
Here is what I came up with on their site
All nicely packed
Outta the box
Weird...some of my shoes match my longboard :
Graphic came out darker than what I had put on the site#-o
Built on June 23, 2009 by Matt from Bustinboards
O'tangs!
Randal RII 180
Front trucks don't sit flush, but nobody has had a problem with it so as long as it rides it's all good.
Rear trucks sit pretty flush
Both trucks are the same length, just the picture makes it look weird
If any of you guys longboard post up pics of what you ride!

HAHA gotta love paddington bear . You should go for it, it's not as hard as skateboarding and it's really relaxing and mellow.

Pff, skateboarding is mad easy but longboarding is even easier. You could honestly learn to ride a longboard within a week.

never said skateboarding was hard...just longboardings even easier. You can learn to ride a longboard in less than an hour...it's pretty straight forward. Just if you suck at balancing than it might be a different story

Fair enough. I'd recommend learning to ride a skateboard first if you're ever planning on learning skateboarding as going from a wider longboard stance to a smaller skateboard stance makes you look like a goof.

You'll be able to carve in like 3 hours, no joke.... The learning curve for simple carving and cruising is very shallow.
Once I get a new helmet I'll be skating daily again. As for stance, I rock a reall narrow stance on my board when I'm cruising anyway. And I really need to learn to speed check and pendy (I've mostly been using this to get around UBC where it's flat) but my left hand is broken so I can only practice colemans and heelside drifts lols (I ride goofy).
How long have you been riding?
My ride:
Earthwing Superglider
Indy 169s (stock bushings)
EW Road Rage 66mm (83a)
Bones Reds
Color looks a lot better irl.. And it's a bit more nicked up now and the wheels are like 5 shades darker hah.

I was considering getting an Earthwing but I wanted something that nobody else would have. I know people might have the Strike in Vancouver but nobody would have the same colour combo. So thats why I went for it as well. Anyways, this is my first longboard and I must say I'm addicted. It's sooo fun.
