Which HP Pavillion dv9000 series do i have?
i look near the serial number on the bottom of the notebook and it says dv9618ca...i look at the top right corner of my monitor and it says dv9000(which i just assume means 9000 series), but then i look at my system properties and it says i have a dv9500...whats up?!!?
just curios cause i wanna be able to install the proper drivers and updates for the right laptop model

I would say 9618ca, you're correct in that the tag just means the series, mine says dv6000. I'm not sure why the system propertied would say 9500 though, maybe they're similar and HP cheated a bit in the OS install or something?

I would say it breaks down somewhat like this.
dv9000 is the series of laptop
dv9500 is the subseries of the laptop
dv9618ca is the actual model of the laptop
The dv9500 subseries would have updated parts compared to the original dv9000 series, even though it still uses the same chassis.
