Canon 5D MKII VS 1Ds MKIII
Im currently in a market for one of these cameras.
i Just cant help to wonder why the 1Ds III cost almost triple the 5D MKII?
other than more AF points, better weather sealing, what other features are there that I dont know of? I mean I could go for a 5D MKII which has basically everything minus the AF points and 5D MKII has 1080p video feature which is kinda neat.
i donno, which would you guys choose for portraits?

You're also looking at a much older camera in the 1Ds.

5D mkII for sure. The AF on the 1Ds is awesome, but the AE is all over the map, and the screen sucks ass. The 1Ds is a much more responsive camera, it's faster than the 5D mkII, but in most shooting situations, I'd pick the 5D.

How heavily invested are you in canon glass? If the d700x is going to be as good as i think it will be, it will trump the 5dmkII

The D700s/x hasn't even been announced yet. We'll see.

im just basing this on what an amazing camera the d700 is. Combine it with some older ai-s lenses and my god are the images ever beautiful.

Can't dispute you on that. Nikon has nicer colours than canon for sure, and some of the older AI-S lenses are legendary. They look really nice on the 5D mkII, too.
