ICBC repair problem! Help?
Ok so about a year ago I got into a car accident. ICBC repaired the damage for me. They had to put in a new door (recycled), and now the new door they put in place is rusting on the edges.
What can I do?

bring it back to the shop where your car got repaired. They should honor their repair screwups

Similar thing happened to me. A car slid into me when it was snowing. Repaired it through ICBC claim. Got it back during the daytime and parked it for a week during snow. The electrical didn't work (lights, turn signals etc) and when I told that to autoshop, they said it has been weeks and it wasn't covered and pretty much said it was my own fault.

as far as I know, ICBC keeps all the claims active for 1 year even after all the documents signed saying vehicle was received in acceptable condition by customers ...
I think your best bet is to contact ICBC and see what options you have ...

when you got the keys back, you have to read the fine print on what's repaired/covered and if you went to a reputable shop, they should give you a lifetime warranty on their work or for certain stuff

Most shops get "trim time" to take care of rust on recycled parts,if any, or recondition them prior to putting it on your car.
Talk to the shop first. If they will not budge, then contact your ICBC adjustor.

It should be covered. I always thought if the place is ICBC CAR accredited, then all repairs are covered for the lifetime of the car.

if the shop refuses to help you out go back to the ICBC claim center and ask to speak to the MD manager... They'll straighten it out for you.
