Buying my first camera.. some help??
really new to this.. been really interested in photography for a while.. thought nows a good time to get into it.. going to buy my first camers.. i have a budget of $500-$700 range.. can anyone recromend a good camera to buy.. im looking for something that i can easly learn on..
like i said im really new to this and im not to sure to look for when buying a dslr camera.

at that price range, either:
Canon Xsi or Nikon D5000 with kit lens

At that price range, perhaps pick up an used SLR just to learn on? Remember, a fancy camera doesn't help you make great pictures, just like how a nice top of the line snowboard doesn't make you Shaun White.
If you insist on new, the post above has some great suggestions. Personally I think, if you are new, you want a simple camera, so your main focus is learning how to frame the photo, rather than twisting knobs and playing with menus..

Yeah. Get a used DSLR off craigslist. You can find a used Canon 40D or Nikon D200 at around $600-700. These two are a couple of levels up from my first recommendation but they 2-3 yr old models.

Also for the price the D5000 does have the same sensor as the D90, and D300 with a articulating screen and a quiet mode that may come in handy for those quiet places like a wedding ceremony
