How to convert to Alberta Licence
I plan to move to Alberta permanently in the next few months and I am currently holding a British Columbia Class 7 Driver's Licence (which is the "N" Licence in GDL program). My road test for full class 5 licence is coming up in June 2010.
1) Should I do the road test here in British Columbia and exchange that newly acquired Class 5 licence for an Alberta's licence when I get there or should I do it in Alberta since they have similar GDL program?
2) If I decide to do the class 5 road test in British Columbia and convert the licence when I arrive in Alberta, would I be required to do another road test there if I have a clean record?
Please advise. Thank you

if you do it here you can do direct transfer to class 5 in Alberta.
so really its up to you... if you are still in bc in june then just do it here first
if you wait till you are in alberta you will have graduated license.. which is pretty similar to N here but you dont have to use N sign

A valid licence from another Canadian jurisdiction can be exchanged for an equivalent class (Classes 1 through 7) of operator’s licence. Testing is not normally required.
