Convenient or Overkill
I was looking for an alternative to caring everything with me. I was tired of running back to my bag of goodies to swap lenses and putting a customer on hold or potentially missing a shot because I wasn't ready. I've also been reaching for those beautiful primes these last few weddings and just couldn't put them away *drool*
What do I do, convert from a single camera one lens and bag to two bodies with thinktank modular set
What you see here is a Thinktank speed belt + modular set and the DR-1 double strap (holds two bodies around ya)
I'll admit, it felt a little too much at first but after walking around the house, then around the block. I was surprised how comfortable everything felt though! The dual camera gun slingin works like a charm, no need to worry about swapping from long to wide anymore. If I did, it would only take me an extra 10 seconds.
Question is, do I need all this? That's what my secondary. We communicate and make sure we're not both shooting longs at any given time. I think the setup really shines is when I'm on my own. I've always fought my battles by picking my lens before the attack. Now if I'm stuck in a tighter situation, I just grab my other body and shoot wide.
I still don't know though, is it too much? The real question is, how the fuck am I going to get through a packed house at one of those Chinese wedding!

When you're at a chinese wedding you yell "GWUN SUI!!!!" loudly. Everyone will step away.
Gwun sui means boiling/hot water!

During the Olympics, I had the opportunity/pleasure of working at the Olympic Family Hotel (Westin Bayshore). This meant that there were some high profile VIPs that passed through there.
This also meant that there was a photojournalist there who was documenting this. She was super friendly and I had a chance to talk to her. I actually started talking to her because she had a really nice carrying system that looked very comfortable and convenient.
So after chatting with her for a while, she showed me the "sling" she used, and it was multi-pocket harness type sling. Check it out: http://www.griffgear.com/pages/bags-harness.htm
Custom made to order. Not too pricey either and she loved it for being on the run.
BTW, she uses two bodies.

That looks like a lot to carry dude. Since you seem pretty pro, you're probably best served by two bodies, switching bodies would be awesome. 50% less lens changes. Like this guy. He has one body w/ a 70-200 f2.8 with him at all times, and anothe body to cover wide angle.

you just farted, roughly translated. Stinky, if you prefer the more "direct" translation.
