Apple Retail Store
anyone worked for them before? i got invited to their invite only hiring seminar this weekend. also wondering is it possible to switch departments within the company? i was applying for apple genius but they are inviting me for specialist.. so say in the future if a genius position open would it be easy for me to apply to it?

Employees are required to sign a non disclosure agreement (NDA) and so you won't get much info. But I can tell you that yes, transfers are easy once you get in. The problem is if you can even get in or not. They do not care if you have any technical skills for the Genius position. They are looking for something else in particular.
You should apply asap. There is a new store opening in Richmond Centre. All the positions are open.

did they notify you by email or by phone? I apply about a month back and there was no specific listing for the richmond location. Is there one now? Should I apply again?

A regional manager will contact you by phone for a group session. If you do well, then an asst store manager, or sometimes the store manager will call you personally to schedule a time for a brief 1 on 1 casual meeting.

I don't know I was at Best buy one day and this apple rep was telling people how Apple office is out selling Microsoft office balh blah blah..........
So annoying.
