Review: A & R Motor Work in Richmond
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them before?
A & R Motor Work
How is there work etc...
they are relatively cheaper than other shops around Vancouver, and I'm just asking for some opinions about them.
and they don't have a website...
Thanks

lets just say they are cheap and their work reflects it. Had my r32 brakes from my gti swapped into a friends car there and they scratched the powdercoating. They also swapped my dp over to another friends gti and they didnt even line the gasket up with all the 3 bolts. Ended up getting another shop to fix it.
you can also ask Darthchilli on here about his experience with them. They installed his lowering springs on his gti upside down.
They are a half ass shop.

they also installed camber plates backwards on bmw m3 and over torqued the endlink. So the endlink snapped off and the wheel had super positive camber. This is a member of Vancouver Euro and had it fixed at another shop afterward.

Andrew did my clutch and timing belt on my 1980 rabbit 16v. he told me he hasnt worked on one for over 15 years.
he did it no problems. he even drove all the way to the lansdowne mall area to pick up a part for me since i didnt give him all the needed parts. didnt charge me extra
he also trusted me to take my car to work then pay him the next day. plus his price was really good compared to other shops.
overall good experience.

i am sure can handle a car from the 1980s, its pretty straight forward. But for anything more complex, go somewhere else.
