iHome iPod Dock subwoofer/power issue
Hi, I have an iHome iP1, about 6 weeks old that sits in the kitchen, and today I went to turn it on, and it makes a loud crackle noise and then the subwoofers fully flex (either in, or sometimes out) and start to heat up to the point you can't even touch them. No sound comes out, and it doesn't respond to the iPod. The cones stay flexed until I power the unit off.
I've tried unpluggin/replugging it, plugging it into a different outlet, resetting it, but nothings worked.
I would take it back to the store, but I bought it on final sale. I don't want to go through the hassle of the manufacturers warranty until I'm sure there's nothing left I can do.
Any ideas?

i say just go through the hassle and get it over with. testing and experimenting hoping it would work may actually void the manufacturer warranty and you would be hooped then.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. It's good to know they honour their warranties like that! I always feel the need to open something up and look for myself when it's broken but maybe I'll try to keep away from this for now and just go through the warranty procedure lol. Will keep this thread updated for future reference.
