SFU: Buec 232 or Stats 270?
I've decided to minor in business and was wondering what people experienced in those courses? The two above courses are required and i need one.
My math (business calculus) mark was a C, but I am somewhat comfortable with Excel. Any recommendations with teachers?

BUEC is really easy, I'm taking it right now with George Zhang. Class average on the first midterm was 80.5% though, so the curve can really screw you over if you don't do well in exam situations.
Next midterm is on Thursday, and its only on a small amount of content, so I have a feeling the class average will be high again.

Calculus II is a co-req/pre-req of stat 270 so you'll have to take that too if you haven't. The averages for Buec 232 are much higher (~75%) whereas for stat 270 it's around 60% but it doesn't really matter if both classes are curved.
If you're taking stat 270 with tim swartz, there are no assignments. 4 midterms + final so it can be a really chill class if that's what you want.

So far BUEC has been about sampling, distribution, probability, confidence intervals, etc. Also about creating graphs in excel (pareto charts, histograms, etc.) and finding stuff like mean, standard deviation, variance, correlation, outliers, the least squares regression line, and other such stuff. Probably a bit more, but I'm drawing a blank >_>
