Quick frequency question about Wind/Mobilicity
Will Wind/Mobilicity phones purchased here work in Hong Kong? After unlocking of course.

No. Not if you want to use 3G anyways.

Ok, now there are two different answers. I just know Wind/Mobilicity uses AWS 1700/2100.
Can someone knowledgeable chime in and confirm who is right?

You're probably only going to use it with GSM anyways.

I'm pretty sure when an AWS, or any 3G phone for that matter, is referenced as HSDPA 2100, it is in referring to IMT 2100 and not just the down link part of AWS.

AWS is never referred to as 2100, even though it uses the frequency for dl.

AWS is a UMTS Band IV frequency in which:
Tx/UL is 1700Mhz
Rx/DL is 2100Mhz
The Rx/DL is not to be confused with the existing 2100Mhz band used in Eurasia. Their UARFCN frequency values are not the same.

And it's not, but when they say the Bold supports 2100/1700/900 MHz, what do you think the 2100 means?
Remember, the OP is explicitly asking about phones sold by WIND/Mobilicity.

In that case, it probably means UMTS I. But that doesn't mean other phones have both 3G bands.

So to really answer your question...it depends on which phone you buy. Most will.

wind is better than mobilicity for me. Mobilicity has crisper voice quality but wind has a wider coverage map and faster/more consistant data. Mobilicity's data rarely worked for me, i switched back to wind for that reason

Good voice quality =/= No data
The two cannot go hand in hand. Either bad voice quality and bad or no data or good voice quality and good data speeds. Access to the radio network is based upon your received signal code power (RSCP), signal-to-noise ratio (Ec/NO) and modulation.
All of the values above are independent of each other. If one is bad, all of them are typically bad, kind of like a domino effect.

go to gsmarena.com
at the bottom of the navi, click on Phone Finder
check only the 1700mhz freq.. it will show all the phones ever made that runs on this freq.. then you can see if you have a phone to purchase over in HK..
