Actually its been known for over 10 years. Ken Sarowiwa is one of the best known cases regarding Nigeria's problem...

no, i don't actually. but how's this for real; under the "innocent until proven guilty" principle, we know 100% for sure that Shell participates with unethical practises - the others are potentially innocent. do you understand this or would you like me to break it into bite size bits?

Innocent until proven guilty? That definitely does not apply to big oils. BP was innocent until they had the biggest fuck up in the history of mankind. Look at what the Chinese state-owned oil companies are doing in Africa and tell me that we are going to assume they are just decent business people trying to make a buck.
The point is you can dig up the records for most of the oil companies and you will see that most of them are corrupt and they are directly or indirectly involved in the political and legal system of the Country they operate in. It is just a part of the game you play to keep your investors happy. Companies who try to be ethical and play it fair are either bankrupt or are on the verge of it.

I would care less if they owned the country, what I do care about is the fact that by some estimates every year the amount of oil spilled into the Nigerian environment equals that of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, which is though of as one of the worst human cause disasters of all time (to the environment). Every, fucking, year.
