It does not work, i've tried making it a long time ago. The rope must have no give and you're hands will get tired pushing it up constantly lol

If you really need to, you can use a monopod! Or bring a kid so you can rest the camera on top of them. 
Though the kid could get annoying and start shouting....there goes your stabilizer.

haha shouting is ok but its getting them to stay still... older kids shouldnt be a problem but not younger kids.... haha
