Rant on Shaw
So I had an appointment today to get a new outlet installed as my current setup has the internet and tv being splitted via one cable outlet in my basement.
So I called them cause it was 600pm and they still hadn't showed up. The lady I talked to passed my number on to the technician. I get a call back from Shaw saying they can't come because they don't do outlet installs when its dark at night. Then she said they have to send an audit team to see if we are one household.
My beef is why did they book me in the evening when they shouldn't have? Why do they need to send an audit team when they had come in the summer to install my internet and cable downstairs in the basement and to connect my basement line to the main line in the house as my basement was rented out before but now isn't. Which I had made clear to them in the summer.

plus, its common knowledge that the later the appointment, the higher the chance they will be pushed back because of delays compounding from earlier appointments.
ALWAYS, try to book for the morning ones because then there's less chance of delays caused by previous/earlier appointments.

I called back after I had calmed down and let them know after 22yrs of business with them that I did not appreciate some teenage girl saying to me that our audit department has to verify that everyone in the house is the same family.
They gave me a free install when I reschedule and a 100 dollar credit on my account.

DIY?
By the way just so you know it's going on a splitter either way whether it's at the outlet next to your tv or all the way back from the main coax going into your service box.
