Selling a car to someone in the states?
has anyone dealt with this before? i have a buyer that wants to by my car, but he is from WA, and wants me to drive it across.
is there any issues of taking a car down, and coming back in a friends car?
has anyone done this before?

I say you get him to put down a deposit first. You're going to end up drive across and get screwed over if he turns out to be a tire kicker. Other than that, I can't help you.
Good luck, btw. What kind of car is it?

Don't do it.
Unless you like anal probes. It is the responsibility of the buyer to clear the vehicle through US CBP, not you.

Any issues taking a car down? not really... (If you don't declare you're selling it).
Can it be done? yeah.
The US and Canada system only shares the time you enter the US, nothing more usually.
The issue can be when you are coming back to Canada you can be questioned by Canadian customs guards. Canada only cares if you are bringing anything back not so much if you left something in the US...
What kind of car do you have btw?
I don't think the buyer understands the way it works... because In Washington to register a car you need the customs paperwork. He's probably trying to avoid paying taxes.

Tell them to come up cuz they need to sign icbc paper work or icbc will still think you own the car also they might need a bs compliance letter depending on what car it is to bring it back and register the car in the us
