stop scratching?
So my pooch broke the skin in his ear while scratching one time and it got swollen and pussy. I cleaned it out and put on a bucket. This was 3 months ago, he still has the bucket now.. What happens is once it heals, and I take off the bucket, he'll scratch it again and break the skin, puss + infection, and on goes bucket. Rinse and repeat. If i leave the bucket off, he'll scratch his ear to get at the puss to smell and lick... breaking the skin even more and prolonging the infection, so gross. Now he has a perma bucket on his head all the time. Any tricks to make them stop?

no i havent brought him to the vet, i don't think there is anything out of the ordinary wrong, he just discovered that puss = smelly thing to lick so he scratch at it lol. When I leave the bucket one, the ear heals perfectly fine after a week, but I can't keep a bucket on him forever haha.
they're clipped

I would take him to the vet. they can cautarise <sp> the wound. This can happen when an animal scratches too hard. Unfortunately once it happens it is more susceptible to happen again. They can also drain any fluids that are in the ear, which will make it heal faster.
