Need 500 Photos scanned
Question is, what places in Vancouver can scan photos for you? Rates? I have about 500 photos from way back when that need to be scanned into jpeg files. Anyone have experience doing this?
Thanks in advance

Buy a 50.00 scanner and do it yourself. It will take time but if your pics are standard then you can fit a few on the scanner at the same time and crop them individually later. Takes time but once it's done it's done.

Depends how good quality you want. $50 scanner sucks.

Checked out a few places today in case anyone is wondering about this too in the future,
London Drugs - 1.96 per photo
Black's (at Richmond centre) - they're doing 500 photo for $100 and $2 afterwards,
Doesn't need to be high quality but I'm still open to other options, however, I think I'm just going to trek this out at home for the next few weeks.

My brother did this a few years back with all our family photos, childhood, etc.
Not necessarily a bad idea to invest in a decent scanner, if you can see yourself using it more in the future. It is time consuming, but it's also easier to go through at the same time to see what you want to scan and what you really may not need to.

NCIX has a pretty sweet deal on the Epson Perfection Scanners 4800x9600DPI Optical resolution. It also has the ability to scan negatives too which is even better. I scanned some negatives using an Epson CX7800 printer which has a really low DPI but still ended up with some huge 95mb+ files at 34.4MP resolution.
