which adhesive or glue to repair interior plastic parts?
I broke a plastic button/flap that opens up my center console compartment. To replace this, I would have to order the entire center console piece which costs 300 dollars. My car is a limited edition, so it is hard to find replacement parts.
DO you guys know of any glue that are best to form a strong bond on plastic pieces? This piece is a release button that lock the center console door into place.
It looks kinda like this
It is the middle flap along the bottom edge of the whole panel.
I am willing to try something from homedepot or crappytires, as long as it works.
It looks like it's ABS plastic, some ABS pipe cement from the plumbing dept of the hardware store will work.
Test on a concealed portion first, see if the glue melts the plastic.
I have used JBweld on almost every type of material, works really well.JBweld is a 2 part mix,it's like a paste. It's alot stronger than epoxy when it cures.
I even used it one time to fix a friends cracked radiator cause he was too cheap to buy a new one.
