I think the story was more like:
1. TL parked, then Police car parked. Both were grabbing coffee somewhere near 
2. Conversation took place in the coffee shop.

I got stopped at a counterattack for not having a front plate on my 911. The cop made it a point to mention that his wife had a 911 too, and cycled through my excuses of why I didn't have a frt plate until I pretty much admitted I don't like the look of having a front plate. Then he let me go, without a ticket. 7 years now, and only 2 tickets for not having a frt plate. I like those odds.
