how to recover data from old HDD
anyone since i changed my old school mobo, to a new one.
i had to get a new HDD as well...because my old HDD has no sata hook up lol
does anyknow know how i might be able to recover files from it?

so your old drive is pata right?
most new mobo still have pata connection, set the drive to slave and boot it up. Should work

haha I never knew those things were also called PATA.
i just always called them IDE Drives
Anyways - that or you can buy an enclosure and use the drive as an external USB drive as well

you can get a IDE to SATA converter/adapter, you can find them at NCIX or ME for 10 to 30 bucks.

parallel/ata ide same thing
but yea above suggestions work as well

I'd prefer to use an IDE to USB adapter personally.
That way there is no confusion over which drive to boot from, you don't have to shutdown your current machine...etc.

though with this method... some newer PSUs don't have Molex connectors anymore...

Well my mobi has no connection at all at least i dnt think for my old hdd its really old lol.
