random stuttering on a laptop
so i bought a new laptop about a month ago, the g75vw. i replaced the original hdd with a old first gen ssd i bought. did a system recovery with the recovery disc. and every so often i get a random stuttering in the computer where it like freeze/lag for 2sec and it's normal again. i thought it was my old ssd issue so i bought a brand new one and did a clean install this time. it's still giving me the random stuttering. anyone have any idea??
specs:
i7 3610
8gb ram
gtx 670m
windows 7 home premium
any suggestion is appreciated. i don't want to have to send this in for RMA and not have a laptop for a while =\

Are you running McAfee? the gf just had a similar problem but during video playback and also with a recent update couldn't use internet intermittently turns out it was mcafee.

Check to see if the notebook comes with the hard drive shock resistant software.
I'm not to sure exactly what its called but what it does is if it detects shock, it freezes the hard drive to protect any problems writing data to it. Once it doesnt detect any movement the hard drive works again.
Typically I use my laptop on a table, but when I went on vacation and was trying to watch a movie while on a flight, the computer kept freezing everything we hit a little turbulance. I found out that the notebook came with a software that freezes the hard drive when it detects movement. It will probably be embeded with the Asus preinstalled software.
Plus a lot of newer notebooks have this feature.

1. Go into task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC).
2. Go to Processes tab
3. Click on CPU column to sort in descending order
4. See if any process is taking up a lot of CPU.
Running idle, you'll see a lot of process hit 1 or 2%. There might be something that's eating up the CPU, though. Recently, i had similar issues. Mine were caused by a Xerox app that was using 20-30% CPU every 5 seconds, and caused my YouTube viewing to stutter.

nope i don have anything running like crazy. i do have macafee running.. maybe i'll uninstall that and try another one and see if it fixes the issues. thx for some of the feedbacks
