Mercedes Auto repair shops?
So apparently my GL 500 needs to have its power steering pump, rack and pinion replaced. I got a quote from my dealership (one on west broadway) that its going to cost about $6000+. Does anyone know where I can get this fixed for a lower price? Somewhere that's certified would be great. Anywhere around Vancouver or Burnaby is fine. Any other suggestions are welcomed too! Thanks!

Richmond Motorwerks and Salish Autohaus do good honest work.
Went to dealer for an issue, they quoted $6-7000, Richmond motorwerks figured it out and costed $600 instead.

how about evo garage? ive seen david work on porche,ferrari,bmw,and other high end cars. very honest guy as well.

Thanks for all your responses. I will give them all a call and ask for a quote. I believe we (it's my bros) purchased the car in 2009 and production date is 2008. I find it quite unbelievable that the power steering pump is broken with such a short amount of time or is this common in most benz? Mileage isn't too high with around 60000km.

Find the parts on rockauto.com and just compare prices.
2008 MERCEDES-BENZ GL550 5.5L V8 : Steering : Rack and Pinion Complete Unit
PARTS: CAD$433.40 CORE: CAD$109.62 TOTAL: CAD$543.02
2008 MERCEDES-BENZ GL550 5.5L V8 : Steering : Power Steering Pump
PARTS:CAD$178.11 CORE: CAD$34.10 TOTAL: CAD$212.21
So just in parts you're looking at $800 or so. The total price is how much you pay now, you get back the 'CORE' price if you send back your parts.
