Luxury Vehicle Surtax will be back April 1st, 2013 with PST
PST in BC - Common Questions About Returning to PST
"The surtax of one per cent to three per cent on passenger vehicles with a purchase price of $55,000 and over will be re-implemented."
The official legislation is not yet released so the exact detail is still unknown but.. for your reference if you're planning to buy a car > $55K

Sounds good to me, rich people can pay the extra percentage on their new car purchase and I'll pay 7% on my used cars on private sales again instead of the 12% they've been trying to cram down our throats.
Unless the auto dealers association steps in again to level the playing field getting all butt hurt because they can't overcharge people as much for their trade-ins when the private seller has an "unfair" advantage.
