ice cream making classes
Does anyone know any place that runs ice cream making classes? Found some at the pastry institute but they don't start until July. Maybe one of the bigger ice cream stores do them but not sure. Thanks.

class...? what kind are you looking to make?? It can be as easy as mixing milk, sugar, cream and eggs together. Cooking it and then putting it in an ice cream machine.
Lots of recipes out there.. If you want someone to show you, I can do it. You just buy the materials haha.

yeah, it's easy enough but more about the experience. like the ones from the pastry shop seem like fun.

I bought one of these Cuisine Art Ice cream makers.
they come with recipes, and its very easy to use, pretty much what Jkam said, you just mix the ingredients.
I usually cut some mango pieces, then add whipping cream then blend it up. then pour it into the icecream machine, its that easy. prob the best to play around with different ingredients to see what you like rather than paying for courses.

Get a ice cream machine like the one sexyaccord has and you're set. I don't know what you mean by experience but total "cooking" time is about an hour and 45 minutes of that is letting the machine freeze the stuff. You're only actively prepping stuff for 15 minutes.
If you REALLY want to pay someone to teach you how to make ice cream, I can come up with a "course" and you can pay me ahahah. Just trying to save you money!

Very easy to make. Just spend the money on an icecream maker and some good whipping cream. My gf has been using Ben and Jerry's icecream book for recipes.
Sorbet? Even easier. Just get fruit juice and throw it in the machine.

the best class is trying it out and learning as you go. You won't find any classes this time of year since ice cream doesnt sell as good since it's winter.
