2013 Celebration of Light: Canada competes in this summer's fireworks competition.
Go Team Canada! Our country is competing against the UK and Thailand in this summer's Celebration of Light fireworks competition.
The UK lights up their fireworks first on July 27th. Then Canada performs on July 31st.
Thailand lights up their fireworks on August 3rd.
The winning country will be announced on August 5th.

I live right near Burnaby Mountain...great vantage point and transit accessible to boot. There's no way in fuck I'm going downtown and dealing with the crowds. For crowds I'd rather go to Pride.

I wish they would have ANDREW RAYEL compose/mix/DJ a set for our fireworks.
wouldof been EPIC with some of his piano/dance tracks

Yeah, but the crowds are part of the experience though. It's pretty awesome to be part of something so massive. And generally it's pretty safe.

can you really see much from Bby mountain?...you probably get a better view in West Van
