HPRC 2550W waterproof roller case (like a Pelican but Italian)
So I'm looking to buy one of these for storage and travel. Am I being stupid wanting to buy it in red or blue rather than black?

Have you looked into Nanuk cases? They're just as good as Pelican, and made in Canada too!

The equivalent case is $100 more than Pelican or HPRC.
I don't know if that's because it's more expensive or because it's being sold in Canada, though. The HPRC is $260 in Canada and the Pelican 1510 is about $200.
Compare that to the $125 I paid for the HPRC yesterday, no tax, shipped free to Point Roberts where I'll pay $3.50 to pick it up and then the border guy won't charge me a dime for a total of $128.50.
$239 with foam will be $268 after tax and then probably another $20 shipping. How can I justify paying 2x more for ANYTHING in Canada? I never buy anything here.

Didn't realize they were so expensive here even in Canada!

It's silly. A quick look at amazon.ca and amazon.com reveals how different pricing is here in Canada. I'd say at least 75% of my shopping is done online and picked up from the States. The $2.50-$3.50 per package is nothing and I even save $25 on a tank of gas going down to fill up.
