i thought they killed off the maybach at least 10 years ago due to poor sales
maybe a second time around for a cash grab?

Curious they are still using the mercedes logo instead of the Maybach emblem.
I don't think it's going to cost $1mil... probably a very expensive option on top of a S-class kinda like the Alpina package for a 7 series.
Looking forward to the reveal, particularly the exterior.

They're not resurrecting Maybach as a brand; they're using the Mayach name in conjunction with top end luxury Mercedes models. Think Mercedes [insert model] AMG. But instead it's going to be Mercedes S600 Maybach.

2016 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Debuts At 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show

The version on show in L.A. is a Mercedes-Maybach S600, powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 shared with the regular Mercedes S600. The engine is rated at 523 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which is available from just 1,900 rpm. Owners can expect 0-60 mph acceleration in just 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Additional powertrains will be available in the near future, including V-6 and V-8 options.

I don't know, if I had a $1 million, I think I rather have one of those luxury coach builders custom make me a car with regular S600. I think you can get a whole lot more luxury and individuality this way. But this Maybach is pretty sick.
