House Inspector?
Hi all,
Wondering if someone had a good house inspector to recommend? I heard that Ed Witzke was really good but retired back in 2013.
I've checked homestars.com but I also wanted to get some trusty RS member experience.

I've used Pillar to Post a couple times now and they're good.. very thorough compared to another company I tried. Sorry, cannot remember the name of that company probably because I wouldn't recommend them!

We used Douville for ours, he was good, found a couple of things I sure would never have noticed. Does the whole report up on an iPad ago and emails you the results before he even leaves.

Really thorough inspection and explained everything in detail

I used Fairbairn Home & Building Inspections. David Fairbairn is a good guy. he takes pics and notes using a tablet and emails you a report as well, but he also encourages you to walk around with him and he explains what he's looking for. he's quite detail oriented and looked at things i've been told some inspectors won't bother with. background in boilers as well as building maintenance before this line of work so he isn't one of those 'certified internet guys'. obviously he can't see through walls but he did spot some things to keep an eye on that were plumbing related and sure enough i had to get it replaced a couple months later.
in my research half decent guys are around $500...i've a guy that was less before but he was what i would call a drive by inspector.
