I've used that same dimmer with a dimmable LED fixture (similar to this one: Hampton Bay | 3 Light Semi-Flushmount Track Bar Fixture Matte White Finish Etched Glass Shades | Home Depot Canada), it all works fine together.
My first thought would be that you might have wired something wrong - some dimmers, especially LED/CFL compatible ones, it DOES matter which lead is source and which goes to the light.

I actually pulled the fixture down and reseated the ground wire. Seems to work much better now.
All the wires are done correctly. I don't feel like using the fire portion of my insurance on my house. Car, whatever. House... no.
