It would be overkill. And that aside, Tor is extremely slow by nature so you would likely not find it suitable for daily usage. It's just not built for that sort of basic utility.
A VPN would definitely be an appropriate alternative.

i only use tor broswer to by pass my workplace's firewall to read comics and watch dramas lol
